About this release
Remind Me brings together Patrice Rushen's Elektra recordings from 1978 to 1984, tracing the connection between her jazz musicianship, soul songwriting and club records. Extended versions of Haven't You Heard, Forget Me Nots, Number One and Feels So Real sit alongside Music Of The Earth and the LP version of Remind Me. Givin' It Up Is Givin' Up features D.J. Rogers, adding another voice to the selection. Remastered by The Carvery from the original tapes, the fifteen-track compilation spreads across three records and includes an interview with Rushen and archive photographs, placing the songs within her work as a performer, arranger and producer.
