About this release
Rold Lebo's Dansez Otiere returns through Wayonwayon, revisiting an album originally self-released on vinyl and cassette in the Republic of Congo in 1986. The music brings folk and jazz together with subtle soul influences, moving between celebrations of homeland and more reflective songs about love, exile and homesickness. Sung across different languages, the seven pieces connect cultural identity with personal feeling. The title track opens the vinyl programme, followed by Mamphouo, Ivonne and Pessimisme, with Souvenir, Tika La Vie and Nostalgie completing the reverse. This edition presents the album on black vinyl.
