About this release
Soo Kyung Kim introduces the soo:k project with Orchadia, a ten-track album of ambient and electro-acoustic compositions for SWIMS. Its opening pieces suggest quiet, verdant spaces, with the atmosphere becoming more dissonant and experimental as the record unfolds. The sequence moves from ‘Simple Stars’ and ‘Sylvanus Never Slept’ through longer pieces including ‘Grotto’ and ‘Fire Green as Grass’, before closing with ‘There Isn’t an Anchor’. Written and recorded by soo:k, the album was mixed with Tam Tam and mastered by Giuseppe Ielasi. This vinyl edition comes with David Huang’s sleeve artwork in a run of 200.
