About this release
El Bailador De La Esquina draws ten salsa selections from the Discos Fuentes singles catalogue, bringing together recordings that circulated on Colombian forty-fives. Super Combo Los Famosos provide the title track, while Sexteto Manaure and La Protesta De Colombia bring contrasting voices and regional character into the collection. Studio experiments and cover versions sit alongside original songs, with La Integración, Galileo Y Su Banda and Piper Pimienta reshaping familiar material through salsa arrangements. The Latin Brothers and Fruko Y Sus Tesos also appear, connecting brass-led energy, son rhythms and strong vocal performances across a programme rooted in the dancefloor.
