About this release
Marcos Valle's Contrasts brings Brazilian songwriting into contact with broken beat, house and trip hop. Produced by Roc Hunter, the album pairs Valle's bossa and samba roots with early-2000s studio production, joined by percussionist Robertinho Silva, bassist Alex Malheiros and vocalist Patricia Alvi. 'Parabéns (Dança Do Daniel)' opens the set, while 'Água de Côco' and the title track show the range of its arrangements. This 2025 double-vinyl reissue was mastered by Pete Norman and recut by Stuart Hawkes at Metropolis Studios. Its eleven-track programme includes the original 'Valeu' and 'My Nightingale', both appearing on vinyl for the first time in this edition.
