Eddie Fowlkes brings four tracks of funk-infused house and techno to Radio Slave’s Rekids label. Forever opens with forceful drums and trippy vocal fragments, setting the tone for a club-focused EP that also includes Shake Your Hips and What About Us. Nice closes the record with bubbling synths and swinging percussion. A central figure in Detroit electronic music, Fowlkes draws on a history that includes Metroplex, Tresor and his own CityBoy and Detroit Wax labels. The EP keeps that experience close to the dancefloor, with rhythm and melodic movement doing the work.
