About this release
Melbourne producer, DJ and instrumentalist Harvey Sutherland brings his idea of 'neurotic funk' into album form on Boy. Recorded between London, Los Angeles and his Swimming Pool studio, the debut develops the relationship between electronic production and funk that ran through his earlier 12-inches. DāM-FunK joins 'Feeling Of Love', while sos appears on 'Type A'. Across ten tracks, including 'Jouissance', 'Holding Pattern' and 'Time On My Side', Sutherland approaches groove with the perspective of both a producer and a bandleader. The result places his dance music background within a record built around a broader set of songs and collaborations.
