53X - Cyan Haze

Jonne Lydén, aka 53X, returns to [Emotional] Especial with four analogue psychedelic cuts that sharpen his distinctive fusion of dub, trance and acid techno.

Sanctuary opens with heavy 4/4 pressure, charged bass and 303 lines, while Cyan Haze drops the tempo into panoramic sound design, breaks and rolling low end. Owls moves through hardware rumble, found sound, broken chords and melancholic piano before Dust closes with a dark, basement-weight techno incantation.

Drawing on Lydén’s roots in Finland’s hardcore punk scene and his immersion in Detroit and Berlin techno, the EP is recorded and mixed as a set of live, trip-out electronic journeys.
