About this release
The Anthology traces A Tribe Called Quest’s path from the early storytelling of I Left My Wallet In El Segundo and Luck Of Lucien to the later sound of Find A Way and Stressed Out. First released in 1999, the compilation draws from the group’s studio albums and soundtrack contributions, with Check The Rhime, Can I Kick It?, Scenario and Electric Relaxation among its selections. Jazz-rooted loops and the contrasting voices of Q-Tip and Phife Dawg connect the different periods. The closing Vivrant Thing brings Q-Tip’s solo work into the sequence, extending the overview beyond the group’s own album catalogue.
