About this release
Clone Classic Cuts revisits Austin Bascom’s The Relics E.P., originally released under his Abacus name on Prescription Records in the early 1990s. Warm grooves, rich textures and deep sub-bass create an introspective sound, connecting the soulful side of house with a more futuristic atmosphere. This remastered edition expands the original release with previously unreleased material from the same recording sessions. The additional pieces sit alongside the established recordings, giving a broader picture of Bascom’s work from that period. Melody and low-end weight remain closely connected throughout, with the understated arrangements leaving space for the music’s warmth and detail to emerge.
