About this release
Akio Nagase follows Global Acid EP with four tracks built around African samples, TB-303 lines and dub-heavy bass. Acid Maasai Collecthiv opens with vocal fragments and a weighty low end, while Morisyen Acid draws on Mauritian sounds within a repeating acid pattern. Serengeti Summer sets 808 drums and 303 phrases in dialogue before Jua brings the record to a psychedelic close. Nagase's background in reggae-influenced electronics as Makedub runs through the use of effects, found sound and dub-desk mixing. The arrangements keep those textures within steady dance rhythms, giving each sampled phrase space to recur and change.
