About this release
Joe Claussell extends two recordings from The Alan Parsons Project's 1977 album I Robot, reshaping their arrangements for a longer dancefloor setting. The Voice and I Wouldn't Want To Be Like You retain the strings, synthesizers and guitar textures of the original material while giving their rhythmic and instrumental passages more room to unfold. The pairing connects the album's science-fiction setting with Claussell's interest in the relationship between human performance and mechanised rhythm, allowing the detail of the production to take on a different scale across the two sides.
