About this release
Alannah's Red Moon reflects on growing up, losing direction and finding a way back to yourself, told through a woman looking back at her younger self. Written on a beach in the Algarve beneath a red moon, the song brings her soul and R&B approach into focus, with influences from jazz and hip-hop. Stanley Hood's rework shifts the song towards deep house, placing Alannah's layered vocals over warm keys and percussion while retaining the intimacy of the original. Her second solo single and first vinyl release pairs the original and rework on a purple 7-inch in a picture sleeve.
