About this release
Alek Lee’s Blue Bird follows a Balearic thread through hazy guitars, dub and understated pop. Keren Ilan sings the title track, an account of a breakup and the gradual movement towards healing. Treasures brings a bluesy instrumental twang, while Yovav contributes bass and guitar to The Beach Road. The reverse moves closer to the dancefloor: First Rain combines a steady kick with lush synth chords, and Thanks to Sade settles into a slower groove with expansive guitar lines. Remember the Good adds reggae skank and organ before a dub version of Blue Bird brings the album back to its opening theme.
