About this release
Ana Frango Elétrico’s debut album brings MPB and Tropicália into contact with loose indie rock arrangements and a restless punk streak. First released digitally in Brazil in 2018, Mormaço Queima moves from the percussion and trombone of Farelos to the shifting energy of No Bico Do Mamilo. Roxo pushes towards punk, while Picles stretches from DIY funk into a longer psychedelic passage. Co-produced with Guilherme Lirio, Gustavo Benjão, Marcelo Callado and Thiago Nassif, its seven songs capture an early, rough-edged version of Ana’s approach to songwriting. This Mr Bongo edition presents the complete album on black vinyl.
