Andre 3000 - New Blue Sun

New Blue Sun is André 3000’s instrumental solo album, centred on wind instruments and the possibilities of live improvisation. Co-produced with Carlos Niño, it brings together percussion, guitar, keyboards and electronic textures from players including Nate Mercereau and Surya Botofasina. André moves between digital, wood and bamboo wind instruments, allowing the pieces to develop through sound and interaction rather than rap verses. The eight tracks range from extended, slowly unfolding passages to the shorter Ninety Three ’Til Infinity And Beyoncé, with their unusually long titles forming part of the album’s character. This edition presents the complete programme across three vinyl LPs.
