About this release
Anne Clark’s Our Darkness pairs spoken-word intensity with David Harrow’s pounding electronic rhythms and shadowed synthesizer arpeggios. First released in 1984, the song explores urban alienation and heartbreak through a delivery that holds confidence and unease together. Dark Entries’ edition gathers the original twelve-inch remix, the Razormaid treatment and a previously unreleased dub recovered by Harrow. Sleeper In Metropolis appears in its extended remix, alongside the more reflective Poem For A Nuclear Romance. The selection places Clark’s poetry within the rhythmic language that connected new wave and early club electronics, with an insert providing liner notes and lyrics.
