Ashford & Simpson’s ‘Bourgié Bourgié’ gets a three-version outing on Groovin Recordings. The original’s orchestration, nimble bass and live drums make it a natural bridge between soul and disco, and this 12-inch gives it company in the shape of two extended club treatments.

Director’s Cut bring piano-led house colour to their version, while Joe Claussell takes the other side with his eleven-minute Classic Mix. His percussion and spacious arrangement keep the connection to the original while allowing the groove to stretch. Pressed on black vinyl, the record puts the original, A Director’s Cut Exclusive and Claussell’s mix together in one place.
