About this release
Island Dreams is Aura Safari's second album, bringing the Perugia collective's live instrumentation into a blend of Balearic, boogie, house and jazz-funk sounds. Rhodes chords colour the title track, while Sur Mon Balconnet moves through dub-influenced disco and Onda foregrounds a synthesizer bass groove. Zeke Manyika supplies the vocals on Dancing In The Moonlight, which also appears in a Special Afro Dub. Sur Mon Balconnet returns as a Soca Dub, alongside pieces including Wave Riding, Disco Mantra and Patagonia. Released on Hell Yeah Recordings, the twelve-track album is presented across four sides of black vinyl, with Calm handling the mastering.
