About this release
Ben Christensen, one half of Symptoms Of Love with Ryan Spencer, brings a synth-focused EP to Bar Part Time. The title track combines dissonant electro with a melodic Detroit influence, while Music Remembers works with pitched vocal fragments and 808 claps. Whose Water shifts into a slower, more introspective setting, with Antonio Manzari contributing synthesizer and bongos. New Sun closes with a propulsive cosmic-disco feel. Across the EP, Christensen connects contrasting rhythmic moods through detailed electronic arrangements, moving from the brighter first side to the more inward-looking and psychedelic textures of the flip.
