About this release
NuNorthern Soul’s sixth Summer Selections gathers different approaches to Balearic listening. Wrekin Havoc reworks B.J. Smith’s cover of Outkast’s Prototype, while Sasha Foam’s Curious brings piano and acid touches into a mid-tempo groove. Roots Artefact adds the dub-led Call To Wind, and Visions of Light recasts Underworld’s Born Slippy as a slower instrumental. Lonely Deckchair’s Adaflo turns towards piano and minimal beats, before Perth Lewis closes with the spacious, dub-inflected Monolith. The selection connects dancefloor rhythms with more reflective arrangements, presenting all six contributions together in the label’s branded sleeve.
