Those who closely follow the revivalist jungle scene should be well aware of Bman and Default, as both have been serving up Amen-delivered slabs of dancefloor delirium for well over a decade. Here they inaugurate a brand-new label, Mad, via a weighty, excitable two-tracker. The real winner - for old school junglists at least - is collaborative A-side 'Something Freaky', a sub-heavy trip that adds occasional jazzy synth-flourishes and glassy-eyed melodies to an otherwise roughneck ragga-jungle workout. Default goes dolo on the flip, delivering the kind of deep, woozy and spacey early drum & bass roller that was once the preserve of LTJ Bukem and his Good Looking label.
