About this release
Bogdan Ra’s second Love Affair release puts the 303 at the centre of four tracks that move between acid house and New Beat influences. Damn Fine opens with a rasping acid line, a driving bass groove and a brief vocal hook. Habibi brings sinuous melodies and FM-like synthesizer tones into a jacking rhythm, while Feel pushes the pace on the reverse. Action closes with phased bass, science-fiction synth motifs and a darker, more tightly clipped groove. The record keeps the weight and texture of analogue house in view, giving each track its own balance of bass pressure and melodic detail.
