About this release
Bosq and Kaleta reconnect on Ipade, a four-track 12-inch that follows their collaboration Wake Up. The title track draws on Kaleta's experience playing with King Sunny Ade and on the meeting of traditional African music with electronic production. Released on Bacalao, the record pairs Ipade with Ariya Tide, presenting each song in both vocal and instrumental form. That arrangement leaves room to hear the rhythm sections independently as well as with Kaleta's voice, making this a useful Afro-disco pairing for home listening and DJ sets.
