About this release
Brief Encounter's Where Will I Go pairs a soul ballad with the previously unreleased Always on Athens Of The North. The label presents the full version of Where Will I Go after an earlier compilation appearance used an incomplete recording. On the reverse, Always brings a disco-gospel sound, recovered from the master tapes of the group's private-press album sessions. The contrast puts the reflective ballad alongside a more rhythmic recording, giving each song its own side of the seven-inch. ATH070 brings these two archive discoveries together, returning the band's recordings to a complete single presentation.
