About this release
Quiet Music Under The Moon presents Calm’s first beatless chill-out album, returning on transparent vinyl through Music Conception. Its ten pieces favour gentle movement, sustained chords and an organic ensemble sound, with musicians from the Japanese producer’s wider circle supporting the writing. Shorter arrangements replace the extended forms heard elsewhere in his catalogue, allowing the album to unfold as a compact sequence. From Drift To Dreamland and Moon Shower to Arigato Arigato and Oyasumi, the titles reflect a nocturnal setting matched by the restrained music. Ambient textures and a soft approach to sound connect the two sides.
