About this release
Brazilian producer Rafael Capetini joins Emotional Especial with Sound System, a five-track EP connecting house, reggae and Latin percussion. Drawing on his work with Doblado Records and the Sonia parties, the record brings an improvised, dubplate-minded approach to the club.
‘Househall’ and ‘Sound System’ lead the A-side, followed by ‘The Clash’, ‘Rei Dos Reis’ and ‘Til I Die’ on the reverse. Echo, heavy bass and Rio swing run through tracks informed by Jamaican sound-system music and the possibilities of dub.
