About this release
Captain’ Ahoy Edits brings Balearic grooves, Italo disco and street soul to Melodies of Love’s third release. The selection places smooth synthesizer textures alongside a relaxed rhythmic feel, with an emphasis on edits suited to open-air listening and dancing. Beefa and High Tide Hero share the first side, while Sleepy Schooner and Whisper Louder complete the reverse. It is Captain’ Ahoy Edits’ first vinyl release, following a run of edits shared through Bandcamp. The record introduces that approach to Melodies of Love’s catalogue, connecting disco touches with the slower, melodic feel of street soul.
