About this release
caroline's second album expands the eight-piece collective's approach to repetition, space and shared performance. Rather than staying with the slower shapes of their debut, caroline 2 places acoustic and electronic elements in sharper contrast, moving between exposed passages and dense layers of sound. Caroline Polachek joins “Tell Me I Never Knew That”, her voice becoming part of the group's shifting instrumental and processed-vocal textures. The eight-track sequence runs from “Total Euphoria” to “Beautiful Ending”, with changes in scale and mood giving the record its sense of movement. This Rough Trade vinyl edition presents the original album on black vinyl.
