About this release
Chaos In The CBD’s debut album A Deeper Life reflects brothers Ben and Louis Helliker-Hales’ childhood in New Zealand through house, jazz, ambient music and downtempo rhythms. Live instruments and guest vocalists broaden the duo’s sound across fourteen tracks. Nathan Haines contributes saxophone, Josh Milan joins “I Wanna Tell Somebody”, and Stephanie Cooke and Novelist share “Maintaining My Peace”. The sequence moves between quieter, open textures and more direct grooves, connecting the memory of coastal life with the pair’s years in London. This standard double LP on In Dust We Trust presents the complete programme on black vinyl in a jacket sleeve.
