About this release
Love Is The Same brings Coast To Coast's late-1970s Queens sound to an Athens Of The North single, pairing the vocal recording with its instrumental. The band grew from the songwriting partnership between Mark Beiner and Ben Iverson, who met in 1976 and began composing together two years later. Iverson's background in doo-wop fed into a group whose arrangements joined modern soul melody with disco rhythm. The instrumental gives the backing room to move without the vocal, offering a second perspective on the same song. This ATH176 7-inch presents the two versions across its A and B sides.
