About this release
Back In The Days brings COEO's taste for soul and jazz samples into a direct, club-focused house EP. The title is a fair guide to its appeal: the duo draw on the bounce and warmth of nineties house, with chopped musical phrases and drums that keep the movement clear. Toy Tonics' taste for sample-led dance music runs through the record.
The four-track vinyl selection pairs ‘Back In The Days’ with ‘Native Riddim’, then turns to ‘Jugendstil’ and ‘+++’ on the reverse. It's an easy record to place between disco and deeper house, with enough musical colour for a warm-up and enough drive to carry a busier floor.
