About this release
Cinema 3000 is the debut album from Common Saints, the project of writer and producer Charlie J Perry. Recorded in his London home studio, it combines soul, funk and psychedelic rock through piano, drums, guitar, bass, vocals and percussion. French singer Taloula joins “Dream On”, while Alfie Templeman contributes drums and guitar to “Sweet Surrender”. From the layered harmonies of “Sweet Release” to the loose groove of “C’est La Vie”, the album keeps its focus on played instruments and warm recording textures. This black-vinyl double LP edition presents fourteen tracks in a gatefold sleeve, including “Utopia” and “Sweet Surrender”.
