About this release
Confucius MC and Bastien Keb's Songs For Lost Travellers brings rap, folk and jazz into a quiet, largely drumless setting. The South London rapper's reflective writing sits within Keb's home-recorded textures, where field recordings, voice notes and first takes remain part of the music's character. Kofi Flexxx adds flute to several pieces, with Mark Millington appearing on “Bonsai” and Zemora Amour on “Care About”. Family also enters the record: “Little Man” was written for Confucius MC's son, whose voice appears later on “Paramount”. Released by Native Rebel Recordings, the fourteen-track album gives its words and melodies space to unfold.
