About this release
Chris Rael’s Crisrail project pairs ‘November 18, 1983’ with a dub version on this Athens Of The North 7-inch. Taken from The Game Of Music, the track connects a funk-led rhythm with the project’s off-centre post-punk approach. Rael built the original album through solo overdubbing at Black Pond Studios in Rockville, Maryland, with Tom Scott contributing horn and flute parts. The single presents two perspectives on the same piece, bringing its unusual pop sensibility into a compact 45 format. This edition comes in a handmade Riso sleeve, with 500 copies pressed.
Format: 7-inch vinyl, handmade Riso sleeve, edition of 500
