About this release
Leap the Dips grew out of machine-jamming sessions between Sheffield duo Curtain Twitcher. Its analogue textures and unhurried rhythms connect experimental electronic music with a loose, post-Balearic feel, allowing melodies to emerge from the shifting patterns. Migration and Northern Flicker bring an acidic edge, while The Perfect Light and closing piece The Fourth Door explore a more reflective atmosphere. The music draws on the exploratory spirit of early electronic composition and krautrock without smoothing away the quirks of the duo’s playing. All tracks are written and produced by Curtain Twitcher, with mastering by Sam Proctor at Lismore Mastering.
