About this release
Moodymann reshapes Take Me As I Am by Dames Brown and Amp Fiddler, drawing the original’s soulful character into a looser, groove-led arrangement. The song comes from the Detroit vocal trio’s album of the same name, presented by the late Amp Fiddler and rooted in disco, R&B and house. This twelve-inch places Moodymann’s extended remix on the A-side, with the original and an acappella on the reverse. Together, the versions offer the full song, its vocal elements and a different rhythmic perspective from another artist closely connected with Detroit’s musical community.
