About this release
Dea's Fairlight EP began with a Yamaha DX1 synthesizer preset that gave the record its name. Aradea Barandana, also known through Precious Bloom, uses that starting point to explore Italo-inspired electronic music with melodies and harmonies that change as the tracks unfold. Rather than keeping every element locked into a repeated dance pattern, the arrangements develop as little narratives. Baroque ideas, including chromatic ascending progressions and voice leading, sit alongside lighter, bubblegum-like synth phrases. The four tracks balance the character of vintage electronic instruments with a playful approach to composition, bringing a sense of movement and surprise to Rush Hour's Store Jams series.
