About this release
Devin Dare return to Razor-N-Tape with four edits spanning New York disco, uptempo soul and slower funk. Duane Harriott and Sean Marquand open with “DANCEMUZAK”, stretching a disco groove into a driving, hypnotic arrangement, before “ITSDISCOTIME” works through repeated loops and builds. On the reverse, “LOOKINGGOOD” brings a more buoyant soul feel, while “1HEATER4SASHA” slows the pace with a clavinet-led funk groove. The contrast between the two sides gives the EP a range of tempos without losing its rhythmic focus. This RNT060 12-inch presents the full four-track selection, with two cuts on each side.
