About this release
Dave Lee revisits two disco-funk recordings across three mixes for Disco Combine. His Psychedelic Funk Mix of ‘2001 Disco Party’ builds around a hypnotic groove, while ‘Potion Of Love’ takes a different direction: an extended synthesiser solo runs through strings, rhythmic guitar and a female vocal. The Strut Your Strat Dub returns to ‘2001 Disco Party’, bringing its guitar parts into sharper focus. Rather than repeating the same arrangement across both sides, the selection gives each treatment a distinct instrumental centre, moving between psychedelic funk, expressive synth playing and a guitar-led dub.
