About this release
DJ Homicide presents a two-track seven-inch that moves between smooth R&B-inflected hip hop and a firmer, more percussive sound. Wild Mary places soft chords and melodic vocals over an easy, swinging rhythm, giving the opening side a relaxed nineties feel. Get Up Steez shifts towards tougher drums and a heavier low end, with falsetto hooks lifting the arrangement. The pairing reflects Homicide’s background as a DJ and producer, using familiar vocal textures within concise club-focused reworks. Both sides keep the beat central while offering different balances of warmth, swing and rhythmic force.
