About this release
DJ Homicide_ opens the CA catalogue with two cuts that connect low-slung hip-hop drums and ragga vocals. “Pause Lion” places a raw vocal delivery over direct boom-bap percussion, keeping the arrangement focused on weight and rhythmic space. The reverse, “Ghetto Scenario”, takes a smoother route while retaining the dancehall influence in its vocal phrasing. The contrast gives the record two distinct moods, with a shared emphasis on heavy beats and the interaction between voice and groove.
