About this release
Dub Specialists’ Break To Break revisits Dougie Waldrop and Chris Petter’s meeting of sampled funk, reggae basslines and digital dub. Mysticisms draws four cuts from the project’s first album, Dub To Dub Break To Break, extending them for its Dubplate series. Piers Harrison reworks “Dub De Funk”, Millie McKee takes on “Movin Ya”, Vanity Project reshapes “Funkin Dub”, and Chuggy closes with “Murderous Style”. The edits build on the original sessions’ drum loops, sampler textures and keyboard chords, giving each piece more room to unfold. This four-track vinyl EP keeps the focus on the group’s blend of funk rhythm and digidub.
