About this release
Spirit Of Love pairs two Eddie Palmieri recordings from his 1978 album Lucumi, Macumba, Voodoo. The first side brings together vocals, horns, keyboards, guitar and percussion within an arrangement shaped by disco and Afro-Caribbean rhythms. The title track from the album occupies the reverse, extending Palmieri's relationship with Latin music and jazz through a larger ensemble sound. Across both pieces, the percussion and piano connect the dancefloor emphasis with his broader musical vocabulary. This official Epic reissue presents the pairing on remastered 7-inch vinyl, retaining one selection on each side.
