About this release
Recorded and privately released in Zurich in 1985, Salir Del Agujero brings together the musical backgrounds of El Calefón’s Argentinian and Brazilian members. Co-founded by multi-instrumentalist, singer and composer Coqui Reca and guitarist Pablo Miguez, the group developed its sound through regular live work in the city. The album draws on music from both countries, combining those influences with rock, jazz, pop and Latin rhythms. Percussion, saxophone, flute and synthesizers help shape its open, varied arrangements, capturing a band finding a shared musical language far from home.
