About this release
Fly Away pairs Electrified A.G.B.'s New Orleans jazz-funk recording with its instrumental version. The group's name refers to an All Girls Band, and the release connects their ensemble playing with the soul and fusion sound associated with independent recordings from the city. The vocal recording occupies the first side, while the instrumental on the reverse gives the same arrangement its own space. Dome City's reissue brings both versions back to 12-inch vinyl on the original label, preserving the two-track pairing. The programme offers two ways to hear the recording's rhythmic detail and musical interplay.
