About this release
Ernie K. Doe's Here Come The Girls pairs Allen Toussaint's songwriting and production with a New Orleans funk setting. The recording found a new audience through its use in a 2007 Boots advert and subsequent sampling, but this seven-inch presents K. Doe's original performance.
Back Street Lover takes the reverse, making a two-song pairing on Janus. Issued under catalogue number J167P, it brings the familiar lead track together with another side of the singer's repertoire.
