About this release
Aaron Coyes continues his Exotic Gardens series for Pinchy & Friends with Afternoon Dubs, following Morning Dubs into a more warped daytime setting. Acid synthesizers, distorted telephone tones and spoken fragments sit within a bass-heavy dub framework. The numbered pieces move between rhythmic passages and more suspended, ambient textures, using unusual details to unsettle the space around the groove. Across the album, the focus stays on the interaction of low end, electronic sound and dub processing. The eight-part programme is presented here on vinyl, with four pieces on each side.
