About this release
Aaron Coyes of Peaking Lights and Leisure Connection introduces Exotic Gardens with five songs that expand his dub practice into new wave, goth and acid psychedelia. Recorded in Amsterdam and completed after his return to California, Drugs & TV combines stripped-back drum machines, broad basslines, haunting guitar and understated vocals. The title track sets out the project’s hook-led approach, while Last Of The Light and Tonite draw on a more wistful mood. Organize Your Movement stretches into a near-ten-minute dub-house piece with Roland 303 and 909 textures, before Turn It On closes the EP’s loose, genre-crossing sequence.
