About this release
Rio de Janeiro multi-instrumentalist and producer Fabio Santanna brings Brazilian songwriting traditions into a contemporary disco and boogie setting on ASA. Drawing on the musical language of João Donato, Marcos Valle and Ed Motta, the album follows his collaborations with JKriv and Joutro Mundo. Santanna composed, performed and produced the twelve tracks, with Tee Cardaci as executive producer. Songs including You Can Do It and Swing Malandragem connect funk with Brazilian percussion and samba influences, while the wider programme carries a relaxed Balearic feel. This Dippin' Records double LP presents the complete album, from Asa Delta to Fim de Tarde.
